Victorian Children Playing in Snow Christmas Postcard

Christmas Wish Vintage Postcard

Last Modified: June 10, 2018

This adorable Christmas postcard was created in Germany, which accounts for the English translation “I Wish You Was With Us for Christmas.”

Two young children are playing in the snow on this Christmas postcard as we see snowballs piled up and ready to throw. The little girl is patiently watching her brother who has obviously been hit by snowballs, but is holding a holly branch. The snow shovel has been cast aside at their feet for the greater fun of a snowball battle!

What I find so charming about this postcard is that the little children are so bundled up with clothes similar to those I had to bundled into as a child. I remember those pointy winter knitted hats, knitted mittens, and puffy snow clothes that you could barely move in! This picture took me back to my childhood. ~Annie Rose
