This vintage Christmas postcard shows a little boy and girl dressed very nicely in velvet Victorian clothes, stopping to visit friends on a snowy day. In the background is a snowman complete with bucket for a hat and broomstick in his arms.
The little boy carries a knapsack on his shoulder and is already rolling a snowball. You can imagine these two children were on the way home from school at the beginning of their Christmas break and are asking their friends to come out and play in the snow.
We all remember those days – the last day of school before break when, if you were lucky, it had already snowed and you could romp in the snow on the way home. It was such a great feeling to know that you had weeks off to play in the snow or indoors with new Christmas presents by the fire. What fun!
