This vintage postcard is a black and white photograph from the early 1900s showing a Nevada baseball team posing for the team picture with words, “H.B. Baseball Team – 1904 -05.”
It is a great look back into the days when small towns across America had teams that played each other on home grown fields. It was the era of Babe Ruth when baseball was the great American past time. Captured here is that spirit from the Wild West of a small Nevada team complete with a young cowboy down front who was probably the a son of one of the players.
The origin of “H.B.” is unknown, but could stand for Hawthorne or Henderson, Nevada. It could also stand for a company or store that backed the team. Any information on this photo is appreciated and can be submitted through the comments form.
